Time for festival season products in Sivakasi

Whenever festivals such as Diwali, Christmas or New Year’s Day approach, Gift shops in Sivakasi start concentrating on the sale of festival-related articles. Sivakasi shop owners procure articles such as colourful Christmas stars, Santa Cruz mask, idols, xmas trees, bells and other decorating materials, well in advance of the Christmas festival.

A visit to some of the gift shops in Sivakasi Bazar showed Christmas stars in various hues being hung in front of the shops, and shoppers busy buying them. The shops have also started selling calendars and diaries for the New Year 2013.
