Sixth Economic Census begins in Sivakasi

The Sixth Economic Census begins in Sivakasi, this week. For last few days, in Sivakasi, door-to-door survey has been taken by a team of 55 Government School Teachers. Enumeration officials will visit every house in Sivakasi and get the details of address and caste.

The number of persons in a household / business, the head of the family and his or her name, occupation, address, caste, educational status and occupation are some of the aspects that will be looked into. Mr.Thirupathi, Teacher SHNV Boys Higher Secondary School, Sivakasi, said sivakasiweekly.com that, the proposed survey is expected to cover an estimated population of 1,76,000 and approximately 44,000 households in Sivakasi Municipality, within 15 days.
