Heavy Rain Causes Power Outage

Yesterday-s Northeast Monsoon rains did not spell relief for everybody in Sivakasi town. Sivakasi went dark for eight hours, late in the evening as strong winds and rains caused power outages. There was no power supply from 07:45 p.m. to 04:00 a.m. on Friday. Power cut in the town have lasted for 8 hours. In Sivakasi, families having small kids, aged and elderly people had more harrowing times, yesterday night. Due to power outage Sivakasians had sleepless night. Sivakasians are also unable to sleep in the terrace due to the lack of lights after dark was resulting in security issues. Further, the terrace were wet due to rain.
