Overview - The business environment is changing dramatically and the pace of change is frightening. New business models are emerging everyday and some of these models are very difficult to comprehend. Therefore, business planning is becoming very difficult since the competition seems to constantly change. This is leading to tough times for traditional businesses. The typical indications being falling sales, tight cash flows, poor order book, etc., all usually linked to tough times.

The reality is that this environment is not going to change and go back to the good old days of certainty. This is going to become even more fast paced. In such a context the businesses need to reexamine what they do and maybe even reimagine their whole business model. The question arises as to what should be the focus; Customers? Profitability?
